Master Michael Feldkoff, was born in 1938 on the means streets of Uptown on the far North Side of Chicago. He began his study of marital arts in Akido at the Uptown Boys Club in ther late 1940s and and then at the Jiu Jitsu Institute downtown. After a tour of duty in Viet Nam in Special Forces he studied kajukenbo Kempo with Adriano Emperado in Hawaii. Returing to Chicago he taught Shotokan Karate on Belmont Ave and became a friend of John Keehan and was asked to referee a challenge with the head of the Green Dragon Society. This challenge has become known as the Dojo/Dragon War. He is one of the witnesse to the dojo war I have interviewed and the only one who has consented to being on video. |
